Perennials with Staying Power

We are an international wholesaler of perennials

We ‘Holtex International’ are based in Hatfield, PA and distribute our plants to the horticulture trade throughout the United States.

Holtex was bought from Wilco in January of 2024.  Wilco has over 25 years of experience in the perennial world.  Our main product is bare-root perennials from Holland.  One of Wilco’s strengths was having great relationships with all the growers he used in Holland.  He visited often and would contact growers with any concerns or issues.  He made sure he knew the product he was selling and could stand behind them.  We are honored to continue the company that Wilco has built.  We also broker for companies in the US, including Walter’s and Meridian Young Plants. We are located in Hatfield, PA only 45 minutes Northeast of Philadelphia.

History of Holtex-

Holtex Enterprises’ story began with Wilco, a former grower who transitioned into the flower bulb industry in the early 90s, taking over a sales territory plagued by high turnover. In his new role, Wilco quickly gained customers’ trust despite skepticism about his longevity in the role. However, he grew frustrated with the company’s cost-cutting decisions, such as replacing quality bulbs with cheaper alternatives, which he believed would damage customer loyalty. After six years with the company, and bound by a non-compete, Wilco briefly worked at a nursery in Maryland and then took a job at Toys R Us for about 6 months giving him insight into logistics while planning his next move.

On January 1, 1999, Holtex Enterprises officially launched. Despite starting with no customers or orders, Wilco’s customer-focused approach quickly set his business apart. Holtex was profitable from the start, and many early customers remain loyal today. The company grew steadily, avoiding aggressive expansion tactics that had led to burnout at Wilco’s previous job. Operating from a discreet location in Trumbauersville, PA, Holtex avoided competition pressure, allowing for organic growth. Holtex Enterprises remains successful today, driven by the values of strong customer relationships and ethical business practices.
